Game Park 2015
“A New Direction”

On November 4, 2014,  Larry Randolph and I resigned from being over the Game Park due to some mis-understandings such as why the Game Park was built, why residents made donations and what was planned for the future.  I then volunteered to keep it up until Dec. 31, 2014 until something could be worked out.

It was estimated to take $3,000 to maintain the Game Park for a year.  Since The Gardens, The Villas and Lakeview Estates POA’s did not want to pay to keep up the Park, we worked out a plan that would be beneficial to both GlenLakes Residents and the owners of the golf course.  I volunteered to keep up the Game Park for 2015 and on January 27th the Golf Course Board put me over the Game Park.

Residents will still be able to bring their own drinks, wine and food to GlenLakes “Game Park Parties” during the year just like when TEXTRON owned the Golf Course.  We are working to lease out the Park for birthday parties, family reunions, events and FootGolf Tournaments.  The Golf Club put in two holes to practice  FootGolf  next to the “Game Park”.   We have two very small balls, two medium balls and several regular balls to use for practice.

For FootGolf information click:

We are planing on several tournaments being played over a period of time that includes FootGolf, Bocce Ball, Corn Toss. By having cookouts like in the past we will not need any money from GlenLakes Golf Club to keep up the Park due to the donations received from residents when they attend the parties.   We have averaged over 200 residents in the past and hope to increase in size as more residents meet other residents.

Larry Randolph

Past Vice-President

“Thanks Larry”

Larry Randolph has retired from helping me keep up the Game Park.  Larry was at my side from the very beginning and worked hours, hours and more hours to make the Game Park happen.  Due to health reasons he will not be helping keep up the park.  He was in charge of handling the set up for Picnics and then cooked your sausage or chicken, etc.

Larry and I dug up, moved, then planted the large Palm at the Park after it was donated by the Feo’s on Clubhouse Drive..  When we moved the dying Palms, golf course employees would not touch the Palm because they said it was too large to move.  You should have been there when the two of us planted it!  If it lives it will be called “The Larry Randolph Palm”.  ha, ha, ha, ha............

Larry will be greatly missed and I am looking for about three residents to try to replace Larry.

Anyone wishing to help a hour or two a month can be put on a volunteer list.  If you can’t do physical work we still take donations to buy paint, plants, fertilizer, etc.

Email to be put on the volunteer list or call Jerry at 251-978-3069.
